The Nvidia cards will give you better performance in BF3 and Crysis but the AMD cards are the fastest. The GTX 670 SLI would be the cheapest but for a little bit more you could get the 7970s. It really depends if you want to spend the extra because SLI 670 should play everything maxed out at...
re5 is def not as good as 4 but its still a fun game and I have to say that its a blast co op.. It lost its re roots but as a game its fun and definitely worth $4.
I agree, I use my HTPC to do way more than watch movies. I play the occasional game on it and browse the internet on it too.

what? Nvidia is doing just fine right now. Sure AMD has a faster top card the 7970 (lets not count the 690 or the titan and talk about cards that the middle class can afford) but we are talking about a few frames less, nothing that the 7970 can play that the gtx 680 cant, same goes for the 7950...
I love how people are talking about as low as 5fps more and the guy decides to not buy either card anymore.
You should put the 670 in your computer and enjoy it, its a nice fast card that will let you enjoy your games for years to come. The 700 series nvidia will be faster no doubt but people...
