PLease let me know if I should post in another forum.....I'm such a newb. :)
They are out of Houston, and fairly big in DFW area.
Email boxes are limited to 10MB, but, you can have as many mailboxes as you want.
Since before Thanksgiving this has happend:
1. All 8.8MB...
Good suggestions all. Thank you all.
secretanchitman--see comments below about duplicating to another hard drive. Good point about just going ahead and buying another DVD burner, rather than cd burner, while I am at it. Is there any place you buy your taiyo yudens? I haven't looked to see...
Been a VERY long time for me. :o Using W2K Pro.
Plan on encoding to hard drive all my cds to 320CBR (mp3 v1 tag) AND backing them up to cd-r (clone) AND maybe library them. Be nice if I could do this sort of all in one fell swoop, or as close as possible. Can dedicate one box to it...
MDE,
Thanks so much for all the info. You've given us plenty to go with, and now a selection of mobos to boot. :)
I don't know that we had a set budget.....well, I know we didn't. I just know neither my Dad nor I are the type to spend $500 on a cpu or $300 on a video card. Heck, I...
MDE,
It certainly looks like you've found us an excellent value of mobo/cpu/RAM. Looks like I'll have plenty to play with for overclocking, also. I don't know much about all the terms, as I've been locked into Slot One Intel Tualatins for......um.....since they came out I guess. But, my...
MDE,
Thanks for your quick reply. I had hardly posted it before your reply. Thanks so much for the links, also.
Yes. Good point about AMD. I was very pro-AMD until the chipset mfgs. (VIA) couldn't get the 4-in-1's together. I've also leaned toward Intel in the past, because of the...
Hi guys,
Y'all don't even have to give me links......just the facts is enough. Course, links appreciated. :)
My Dad and I are gonna build new pcs together in a couple weeks as my "vacation". We've both got numerous 1.3Ghz Tualatin systems and know how to build. With my "regular" job, I...
I have several friends who want to buy laptops for their kids who are going to begin college this fall. They are not computer people, and do not want gaming laptops.
If they can run W98SE and Office 97 that should be sufficient. Least money spent should be fine.
Yes....I know ebay, For...
QSnexus--Thanks for the mention of the Ritek G04's. Decent enough price for me to be there. :) They always burn at 4x for me with no problems.
I've totally given up on the cheapo junk, white label LONGTEN from Shop4Tech. I tried.....I wanted them to work, and, at 2x they "sort of" usually...
I can say that I have enjoyed paying bills online with their system. They have done a good job making their online banking site more user friendly as time goes on. I think I've used 2 paper checks in the last 2 years. I don't even know where my checkbook is. I hope it is at least in my house...
I've been using this monitor for about 8 hours, ran 3DMark on it, etc. No problems at all ('cept it is a heavy sucker). The brightness, contrast, etc. adjustments are easier than any monitor that I've had (once you figger out that the thumbwheel is the increase/decrease adjustment).

Maleficus--thanks for the post of the deal.
I just got back. Got two, one for my Dad and one for me. Looked just fine in the shop. Here are some specifics as I remember:
1. Ask for Robert
2. They have a 90 day exchange only warranty
3. Robert said they had tested each one, but he still...
mrbass--If it wasn't for you, your excellent threads over the past few weeks, and DVDShrink, I wouldn't have a clue on backing up my DVDs. Yes, I know you didn't write the program, but, you made it real for me. Thanks.

FWIW, it took my order online an hour ago. Just got some DVD media, and figgered the price on the 1.5GB flashdrive was about what I was looking for.
