Whenever you want to know the specs on an Intel CPU just google "ARK + [cpu model]" in this case "ARK i3-3220". That will get you to: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/65693/intel-core-i3-3220-processor-3m-cache-3-30-ghz.html
I don't think there was a 3220 "U" variant...
I've been running rigs like this for years and will point out something others have not mentioned. My experience is that with desktop hardware the biggest bottleneck is storage. In the earlier days when I was still using spinning disks I found that more than one vm running on the same disk had...
Cloud backup. I use Carbonite but there are many options. Don't forget your backup is not just to protect against drive failures. Its a security precautions as well.
Its not free but any thing worth having is worth protecting.
This doesn't make any sense. Complete system brain transplant just to avoid buying a $30 NIC? How is that buying in to 2.5 GPS cheaper? Also read the AT comet lake review and see if you feel the same way. Finally, you can add a NIC to an AM4 board but you can't add PCIe 4.0 to Intel.
Think of it like the air filter on your car. Restriction or not you would go without that right? Just make up for it with a better fan or more fans.
For me, I have three cats and its amazing how fast cat fur gets in there. And yes, once back in the day I did have cat fur plug up a system to...
If you are lucky enough to live near a microcenter, maybe wait a bit longer? They just cut the price on the 3700x to $260. I know that's $100 more but I'm holding out for it to drop even more. I currently have a 1700@4 GHz.
I'm dusting off some truly ancient knowledge here, but it appears as though an AM3 CPU could work on an AM2 board. I say could. according to Wikipedia: "Socket AM3 processors are able to run on Socket AM2 and AM2+ motherboards with appropriate bios updates," See...
One thing on that - I'd definitely go with the 450 not the 350 in this case. A 350 could have the same issue as the A320 i.e. its been in the channel a while and needs a bios update in order for a 2nd generation Ryzen to work.
I don't like the flashing lights either. On my Asus prime x470 pro it has a setting in the bios to turn them off. Of course that's AMD board, but I'm guessing their Intel boards probably have the same setting.
But if you hate the flashing lights then maybe you also find the windows in the...
Counterpoint: if you have not yet purchased the A320 motherboard then stop. Don't buy it. You really aren't saving that much compared to getting one of the lower cost b450 boards. Check out this one for $65.

No. You will not notice a significant difference. I went from an 850 EVO to a 960 EVO and in general usage you only notice the difference in benchmarks.
