XFX 790i motherboard

I switched powersupplies with my current core 2 system, a 600watt of the same manufacture, and had the exact same problem. The components are: Q9300 Yorkfield, geforce 8800, and the XFX motherboard. I don't even have any harddrive or optical drive plugged in yet.

XFX 790i motherboard

Hello, I just purchased this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813141009. It has 2 gigs of 1300 DDR3 memory in it and a 8800GT video card, with a 650 Watt power supply. When I start it up, I go into the bios, then it powers off without any warning. I loses power...

Athlon64 - bent CPU pins?

Okay, so I acquired a new athlon64 CPU but some of the pins were bent, so I unbent them and mounted the CPU, could this complicate the stability of my system, i.e. should I be sending the processor back?

DFI lanparty SLI-D beeping spastically?

Bookah, thanks man. That's good advice, I found the comprehensive manual online, and the long beep means it's got a problem with the RAM I used.

DFI lanparty SLI-D beeping spastically?

I just bought and installed a DFI lanparty SLI-D motherboard, put a gig of ram and an athlon64 processor in it. When I power it up, it beeps and doesn't post. It's likely that the board is simply damaged, but I wonder if the beeping could mean I have bad memory?

Does the retail athlon64 need thermal paste?

Hey, I just got a new athlon64 processor, it came in the retail box with the fan and everything. I wonder though, do I need to find the thermal paste for the athlon64 as I did wih the athlonXP? There appears to be a thermal adhesive tape underneath the fan, but I don't know if I need the paste...
