I'm trying to connect my ipod to my car stereo, which doesn't have an aux in or a cassette deck (cd only). Any one have good experiences with wireless transmitters like the irock? I wanted to try the itrip but i have a new ipod and it doesn't work with the dock connector yet. Another option...
There are no longer separate windows and mac units. The new iPod comes with a firewire to usb2 adapter that lets you use the cradle with usb2, but you can't charge the batter over the usb bus.
Quite a few people on the mythtv mailing list are using this case for their PVR box. The onboard sound is well supported by alsa, and I think the onboard video is ok for tv-out viewing. I was planning on ordering one for my HTPC.
I must say I agree with jerikl completely. Computer audio is crap to begin with for listening on high quality headphones. The output from most soundcards doesn't have enough power to drive really nice headphones, so you most likely will need to get a dedicated headphone amp if you really want...
I bought a acomdata firewire + USB2 drive at CompUSA a few months ago for ~69.99 after MIR. The drive was 40 gigs and 5400RPM, but I just took out that drive and bought a 120gig WD I found in the hot deals forum for $40. Total price was 110 for the whole set up, and I have an extra 40 gig I'm...
Gotapex.com posts dell deals almost daily. After reading that for a couple weeks you'll know when a good one has come up. I got the 2350 + 18" LCD deal and sold the computer and palm. I kept the LCD for about ~210. If you're willing do something like that I'd say every 3 weeks a good deal...
Hello all,
I'm trying to set up my linux PVR to use an external HD so I can transfer the files easily to my mac for burning onto DVD. I want to set it up so that the directory where the video is stored is linked to the external drive when I have it plugged in and when it's not plugged in the...
Brightness: 80
Contrast: 100
I just got mine from Dell two days ago, so I'm still fine tuning the settings. I've never had an LCD before and at 100/100 it seemed to bright for me.
I just got back from OM with a 48x cendyne Cd-rw drive. They didn't have any LTR-* drives so I settled for the AOPEN drive (model 48x12x50). I've been searching and everyone has been saying the Benq and AOpen drives suck. But are they that bad? Anyone out there have a positive experience...
If you're using BSD for work stuff you should have no trouble using the Mac for work. OS X is built on BSD and basically any application you use in BSD can be run on OS X. Apple has a decent X11 out that will be out of beta in june. There's a project called fink that has ported many *nix apps...
You can buy "accessories" for any mac you purchase through the ADC program at the discounted prices, but only regular ADC members (non-student program members) have this option. If you join the ADC student program, you get a 1 time only discount.
You can use only the USB connection. Otherwise logitech couldn't claim mac compatibility. The directions say "use P2/S whenever possible" but you can use the single USB connection for PC also according to the manual. I've only used it on my mac so far.
I recall reading on head-fi.org that the porta pros (which i own) use the same drivers as the KSC35. The difference in perceived sound quality has to do with the different enclosure of the porta pros and the way the porta pro's headband keeps the drivers closer to your ears. Basically the...
