kujoe, I agree it probably has better cooling with the 12 cell, but it sucks they cant come up with a better design for a 12 cell without making the laptop an inch thicker. I am sure there is some argument also that the keyboard is in a better typing position with the 12 cell... I have a 2...

Hp DV6000t VS. Dell E1505

Just got a HP 6000t for my mom and dad for xmas... It was just over $1000 with the HP TV tuner. Didn't go for the core 2, just the core duo 1.6. XP MCE, 80gb HD, 1gb ram, 256mb graphics. Don't waste your money on the 20$ recovery CDs, they just reinstall to "new" state. HP's quick play setup is...

My brother needs some advice on getting a new laptop

For a 3 year old laptop that is pretty much still top of the line. It may be outdated in size and weight, but not functionality. I would tell him to backup data and reinstall windows XP. That should breath some new life into it.

Dell 3100CN

A little late for the good deal...I just recieved the 3100cn. Yes it is standard 133mhz sodimm memory. I will probably put a 512chip in my laptop and use the 256 that is in it to up the printer memory. The printer is good. A little heavy but it isn't too bad once you get it unboxed. I would...

In this scenario, which would be the router connected to the modem? the non-wireless 8 port router, or the wireless router with storage attached.

Wireless Router or WAP for my new 802.11g Laptop???

I was looking at a Dlink USB storage router for about $60. I have a usb/firewire 160GB drive. This way I could use the router as an access point and have some storage attached to it. I already have a SMC 8 port router. Do I need a x-over cable to attach the storage router?

Widescreen vs. Regular

The wide screen takes a bit to get used to, but I don't mind it at all. When I go look at a 19" 4:3 LCD it looks weird. On the wide screen I generally just leave a side bar like favorites or a search panel open since it would be wasted room on the right side anyway.

I need a new PSU, I blew a Antec 480 true power...Antec, enermax or ??

I just got an Ultraproducts X-connect from Compusa. I was trying to reduce cable clutter for the most part. It works great. It makes less noise than the Enermax I had and looks much better since all the cables arent there.

Anandtechers!! I need some serious help?

A new system doesn't get outdated after 6 months. If cost is an issue be sure not to buy a Top of the line system. Last years best is 10 times better than what you have now. You will like it. There is no way to keep up with technology if you aren't willing to spend 500 or more $$$ every three...

Light-weight CRT monitors?

NEC has a new line of LCDs the 1935 and 1735 series. Good 16ms LCDs. The 17" is about 450 and the 19" is about 600-650. I know it is more than 300 you want to spend, but at least a 17" LCD is worth the money. My 19" dinosaur flaked out yesterday morning. I had to go out and search for a...

Explorer pop ups not working

Thanks for the idea, I couldn't find where to reinstall IE, so I just did an XP upgrade so my system would stay mostly the same.
