GW2 or Rift

Rift is certainly the more "traditional" MMO of the two, and probably more accessible coming in blind. I don't hate Guild Wars 2 (and, yes, you'd have to buy it), but for me at least it's a bit more of a grind than I'd like--albeit not TERA grind bad, mind, just annoyingly so.

30" monitor vs 27" monitor

I'm not going to knock the U3011 at all, it's what I'm using now, but: does/did it come with any sort of warranty at all versus the LG? Not that Dell makes crap monitors, but that can be a consideration...

Heh...yes, check for tape or some such obstruction on the bottom of your existing mouse at the laser emitter hole (pretty much dead center), just to be safe. But it looks like it's shot--especially if it did the same thing on a second PC.

Since this particular set doesn't have a composite video input, shared or otherwise, it looks like your only option is to get this type of cable, stick it on the end of the SNES's AV cable, and plug the minijack end into INPUT 2.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

I just want to know what happens to Dog. Or, more accurately IMO, how--I can't help thinking they're going to kill the poor rendered critter for shock value or some such, but I'm at a loss as to how. Tactical nuke? Building falls on it? Shot by a sniper?

4k tvs, anyone actually seen one?

FWIW: Sony is supposed to be unveiling a 4K video distribution service of its own late in the year, but there are no real specifics on that yet. And the 4K media player they're introducing soonish (not the one bundled with their 84" flagship UHDTV--this is a newer one), which is supposed to...

So I was part of a multi-raid PUG on Oondasta last night...good lord, I haven't seen that kind of carnage since a failed run at Lord Kazzak way back in TBC. We managed to down it, barely, but seeing it literally one-shot entire raids--repeatedly--was hilariously messed up.

Halo products tempt everybody a little. :) This will be overkill for the vast majority, though, so unless you knock over an Apple Store and get three 30" Cinema Displays you can probably safely skip it...

Best 4x Space Game?

I've heard good things about the Sword of the Stars series, but in general it does appear that the Sins games are held up as the best of the post-Galactic Civilizations 4X crop. That said there are others--Endless Space, Armada 2526, Star Ruler, and so on--that have followings, but not nearly...

They're referring to Elder Charms of Good Fortune, which basically can give you an extra loot roll off raid bosses.

Planetside 2..Free to play..and looking awesome so far!

If memory serves, it's either a selectable item in your inventory like weapons (like in BF3) or it's considered an accessory like the nano-regen pack, which has its own use key (F). Only light assault suits have ammo packs to begin with, though.
