I've read the ShopBLT's pre-orders number is actually Ingram Micro's pre-orders number for multiple etailers including ShopBLT. Also, isn't this just another ShopBLT sliding ETA window? Usually the ETA gets pushed back a few days before. Does anyone have different info.?
Don't mean to sound...
Apologies, the first down vote was a mistake and was removed. I must have accidentally clicked on the down arrow while scrolling through the thread. The second down vote is intentional for overreacting to a meaningless mistake and pinging me (a down vote on an internet forum, the horror, lol).
I think re-sale value of the GPU(s) is a big deal for miners, although if the average miner has 10 or so GPU(s) per mining rig, I don't see the re-sale market (e.g., a non-miner doesn't want 10 used GPU(s) for their computer).
Interesting perspective, sorry to read about your troubles. Are you in a position to provide technical support for miners, especially the newer ones rushing in? I read a post today where someone saw a guy at Microcenter buy 10 video cards (4 GTX 1060s, 3 GT1070s, 2 GTX1070Tis and a GTX1080)...
And all those shiny new cards equate to only one new consumer of AAA games at most (but probably an existing consumer so net zero). That makes me very concerned about the economics of AAA PC games.
Although I think the 960 is currently a bit too expensive and is likely to see price reductions soon, I agree with the tenor of your argument. I can't believe some are actually arguing the 960's noise and thermals are better than you need and the hardware video codec is too powerful. When the...
Yep, I just ordered one of those because I need it now. I also need low heat and noise for a mini-ITX build, but darn, I feel ripped buying it for $240. Definitely wait if you can.
This is so disappointing. I've had a WMC/Ceton/Cable Card media server setup for about 3 years now streaming television to various PC(s) and laptops (and one Xbox 360) connected to my network.
I shouldn't be surprised that it all turned out to be a technological dead-end and that I won't be...
Lol, I guess that makes the GTX 970/980 the next paper weight card. Good thing I automatically assume game developers have the best technical talent and know what they're doing! ;)
Are you thinking about going SLI with a second, deeply discounted new or used 780? In view of the 970 release, a fairly priced, used 780 should be about $225 or so (maybe less). Could be a very cost-effective upgrade (if you don't mind dual-GPU(s)).
Looks like Nvidia's A-team in sales and marketing is working this launch, plus, as others have mentioned, Nvidia must be anticipating that the GPU(s) won't be supply-limited at this price.
Congrats to everyone in the market for a significant GPU upgrade at this time! Good times.
Did anyone return a working ASRock X99 Extreme 4 to the Virginia Microcenter? I just picked it up for $140 open-box (includes the $40 cpu bundle discount). Probably a small world of informed enthusiasts who have bought X99 from MC to date, so I thought I would ask. Just curious about its...
CPU-z reports a 20x multiplier for my L5639/Bloodrage combination at FSB 200 as well. My board is X58 (not X58A). The last bios for this board added Gulftown support. Perhaps these old bioses wants to see a 980X and see enough similarity in the L5639 to boot up and try a 980X-type multi...
