I jumped on this deal a month ago. Two weeks ago, I got an e-mail from onrebate.com that both my rebates were processes and checks will be mailed in a month. Dunno nothing about $20. But to me the deal is pretty good.

Plextor 708A started producing a lot of errors when writing DVDs (~=3.5GB and up)

Hey, thanks a lot for your help! I posted on the cd freaks forum and was suggested to test the drive. it did pass. this led to think that it was corrupted data being written to DVD and, consequently, to a software conflicts. i am narrowing the possible cause for it, but it look like it is...

Hey everybody, Just realized that my old and trusty 708A started failing my big time after about two years of light use. Now on burning a DVD I end up with bunch of mistakes towards the end of the recordring (starting somewhere after 3.5GB). Any dvd recording program diligently reports these...

Memtest errors at stock

Mobo is DFI nf4 SLi (3/10 bios) and mem is Ballistix 500, they do not play nicely with new Venice. Tried different things, updating bios, clearing cmos, tight and loose timings etc. just does not work. Everything was working with 3200+ Winchester Any ideas, someone had similar issues...

Help o/cing my +3200 Venice, PULLING HAIR OUT!! :)

Did you try different bios versions? I had similar issues with Ballistix DDR500 and A8N-SLI Deluxe. Using any mem divider (2/3, 5/6) system froze or won't post when memory was reaching 190~200. Seems like your case, because if you use 1/2 divider you can take your HTT to 270. With 1/2...

NV Silencer 5 out of stock everywhere?

How much of the next PCI(-x) slot does VF-700 take? I have two 6800 GT and have problems fitting both of them with NV-5 on DFI nf4. Essentially you can have 2 cards with NV-5 only on ASUS boards. NV-5 are way to big. Are VF-700 any smaller?

How many tests of Memtest are enough?

My ballistix seems to be sensitive to the temperature. Do not know about yours but you might wish to either try fanning or rule out exogenous rise in the temperature, such as temp rising during the day, etc. etc. Also, ASUS boards are notorious for conflicts with Ballistix DDR500 that is my...

About 5G. No CDRW, so I guess the easiest should be to trasfer them through Ethernet cards. There should be some roundabout route of assigning both PCs certain IPs so they will recognize each other as a network, but is there something easier? Many thanks, O
