Monitor has too many resolution options. Can I remove some?

Hi all, Got an NVIDIA 1080 GTX with a Dell G-Sync monitor. Working great, love it, blah blah. However, when it comes to changing monitor resolutions, I have *way* too many options that I know that I will never use. When setting up a new game or whatever, it's a PITA to flip through so...

EVGA GTX 1070/1080 GPUs Catching Fire Due To VRMs Overheating

Okay - this is no joke. Three days ago my basement had a horrible burning smell, which turned out to be coming from my eVGA 980ti, which just burned out for no reason whatsoever (that I can tell). I don't know if it's the same problem as this one, but Gigabyte, here I come. :-(
