that's all fine but did anyone actually manage to get their hands on one of these at Fry's? I want to know (morbid curiosity?) because I paid more!

I bought an ACER 14" laptop at CC for about same price a month ago. Essentially similar specs. It was sluggish with 512K mem. I added another gig for about $40.

I just installed it. Came with a new cartridge, no USB cable. Mucho faster than my deskjet. I run winXP. I had to use the HP CD to do the install.
