Resizing partition using diskpart

I have an IBM x31 laptop. I got a new hard drive for it. I created three partions: one for xp, one for linux, and one for both OSs to share using partition magic on another pc. Next I installed xp from my IBM disks. Upon boot I checked the hard drive and my partions were gone! During the install...

remodeling & runnin the cat5. need networking

Doing some remodeling and running new cable, telephone, and ethernet cable (8 wire). I ran the wires from each room in the house to come to a centralized point in the garage. I want a gigabit LAN to share large files and stream movies etc? Before I go too much further I have a couple questions...

video card woes

Well, now I am totally confused....I just restarted the PC to adjust the refresh rate of the monitor, and now almost everything is OK (without changing anything). The only thing messed up now is my pdf-file icons, and my OFFICE(word, excel, etc...) icons. Any new ideas?
