Should I go for Intel or AMD?

Oldfart, I'm pretty sure mine is not an original Samsung. It has their chips though. Just try your RAM at a higher voltage with faster settings. It wouldn't hurt. I just wish I had Nate420's CPU. I'm happy with mine though. Others are not so lucky.

512meg of ram and out of memory in within 10min

Here's a tip. Minfilecache and Maxfilecache should be the same, cuz if windows resizes it, you will notice a slowdown.

Should I buy a ATA/133 Controller card?

Sustained transfer rate (STR) is more important than read burst speed (RBS) when it comes to hard drive performance. You will notice an increase in STR whereas you may or may not notice an increase in RBS (in real world performance). STR in today's hard drives (IDE)doesn't even come close to...

Can the Maxtor Diamondmax Plus D740X ATA133 handle high FSB's?

I need a definitive answer on this. No, "I think so" or "it should". If you've got this hard drive running at 145Mhz FSB or higher, I want to hear from you. Or, you can tell me what the highest FSB you got this HD running at, stably.

BIG problems with my Acer 16x10x40

I don't know about your problem but my Acer 1610a was giving me random bad burns (with the same media) after only a few months of use. So I got rid of it. Even with firmware updates, the drive was still flaky with packet writing software. It was not one of my better purchases. I replaced it...

Is there is a fix for Lite-On CDRW tray opening?

I believe the problem with this drive is with Abit mbs. But you have an ECS so I don't know. You can try updating your firmware but I don't know if it'll help.

Looks like the Alpha Pal 8045 has been dethroned, review of the new Swiftech MCX-462

What makes the MCX462 tops in my books is that it will fit on any motherboard because of its scaled down size as well as being the best cooler. No more worries of, "Will it fit?", when shopping for a new motherboard.
