Steam just downloaded a sizable patch...

There are a lot of people selling their AMD "Never Settle" GPU game bundle codes on eBay for around $20, which usually include Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, and/or Tomb Raider, maybe a couple others. That's probably still going to be the cheapest way of getting any of those...

I grabbed Dragonborn and it made me download and install their silly client simply to retrieve the Steam code (which it wouldn't even let me copy/paste-- had to retype it). Pretty lame setup. Just a heads up.

Suggestions on finding notebooks capable of driving a 30" display

It's definitely only an issue with DP -> DL-DVI (2560*) but the 30" Apple display the OP mentioned only has a DL-DVI connection.

Which SB motherboard with display port ?

The ones on SB laptops do, so I'm assuming they haven't arbitrarily crippled the desktop variants for some reason. However, I can't I've personally seen it running 2560x off a Z68 board.

sandy bridge IGP doesn't support dual-link DVI; all of the motherboard DVI ports are single-link. this is why displayport is the only choice. =/

I have an SSD + 2 mech HDDs in RAID with it set to AHCI in the BIOS and the RAID configuration done from within Windows. Can I enable RAID in the BIOS without breaking anything?

Quadro FX 3700 vs gaming

the 3700 is an underclocked 8800GT, so you should be able to figure out how it'll perform by looking at 8800GT benchmarks and extrapolating from the clockspeed difference. It'll actually be a bit slower than that because of the lack of driver optimization but it should give you a good idea.
