To be perfectally honest I dont think any of you really want FBdimms. From what I know/have seen about them they are far slower than the standard ram.
Its alot like the difference between ECC/Registerd versus standard unbuffered. When you add that level of filtering the performance takes a...

Right now there is only one motherboard that will support Conroe on the market today and that is intel's i975XBX (bad axe). In the BIOS it has an override mode for "1333 FSB" which is what Conroe will use.
Excluding the intel boards it will take a motherboard refresh to support the next gen...

The last time I asked about AM2's tenitive ETA I was told it was some time around June of '06. From what I know of AM2 it looks quite strong and I look foreward to going back to AMD.
The new memory controller design is impressivly strong and you will see why when it is released. The levels...
As a common rule most i955X chipsets max out at roughly 340 FSB and the i975x chipsets max at roughly 380-390 depedning upon voltage. That being said, the chipset will not limit anyone's progress to 4ghz as it clearly hasnt affected mine.
Overall if you want to sumarize the threads at XS...
Welp if no one else will post results, I shall:

So far so good, overall the 920s clock the best out of the 9xx series (go figure). I have one of the better chips and a friend of mine has 4.4ghz stable on water. (4.6-4.8 benchable)...
At this point I am more interested to see the heat values of the newer cores. The TDP was supposedly dropped significantally with these cores and I hope the temps do as well. Hopefully down to the levels of an A64
I honestally do not think that the XT will be the lynchpin for alot of people here. The card(s) to watch here are the PRO and XL and how close they come to the GT and GTX respectivly.
If the core speed can scale on all 3 cards as high as 750mhz or so that is fantastic news for ATi. Why you...
You are giving that piece-o-crap too much credit. If you want to see the REAL reason behind that POS's action see here:
