    Not really. Readyboost, in my experience, is only useful with 2gb ram or less. Anything beyond 4gb should be ok for vista without readyboost. I have 4gb in my laptop now and to be honest i didnt even try my memory stick with it, its only 1gb though. Anyway i think superfetch is enough for me...

    This is normal for vista. If you go to Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Power options -> left sidebar Choose what closing lid does you can decide what you would like vista to do. As for me, I use hibernate when on battery and sleep when plugged in, both reduce "boot" time drastically...

    hey, does anyone know if there is windows home server 64-bit version available? as in, if the server os is 64-bit, not the supported clients, i read that those will be supported with the first power pack. i tried googling but only got vista 64 related stuff. thanks

    Can't Share from Vista Since SP1

    hey im kinda in the same situation, i couldnt get vista to share my hdd had to set up some permission stuff that i couldnt figure out where to do. anyway, i then started to share folders within the partition and its working fine for me. its way easier than trying to share the whole partition...

    my vista updated fine, took a while but it got the job done without a hitch. it seems snappier, but i dont benchmark my laptop, i use it :) im happy with the update. :)

    yeah vista with sp1 will be up to date with server 2008 kernel. so that would kind of make the server a stripped down version of vista, laking all the media, and other stuff, but without benches you can't tell if it will be any faster.

    hey i dont know what's causing this problem but i have it too with vista x64, with proper drivers installed. i thought it was something only vista had trouble with, cause vista kept forgeting folder settings also... anyway if anyone has an idea it would help us both

    Its not the serial key that has OEM in it, but the product id after activition. I know i have an OEM copy of my vista. After you activate windows you'll get a product id which is something like this xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx.

    well i've been using vista x64 hp since july and never noticed any sort of performance loss due to time. but im sure that there are people here who have used it since release and could tell you more about this. for me it works and i dont think i will have to do a format any time soon.

    i read somewhere its supposed to come out when server 2008 is released, that being the very end of febuary something like 28 if i remember correctly. this is not an offical anouncement though. anyway i hope they wont leave it for march.
