That is incorrect. An EDTV is a great display. I own a Panasonic EDTV that has served me well, and it looks great with HD material from a 6' viewing distance. I play both HD-DVDs and Blu-rays on it.
However, for 799, you can certainly find a deal on an HDTV. Just keep an eye out. Don't bite...
Actually, I checked the stock at local stores on my closest Office Depot's PC. I called the store that had two, confirmed stock, then asked them what their price was... 269.99? The stock computer I had checked on rang up at 134.04. Lame. =/
You're right, the A1 may not be the choice for a main player anymore... but I use my Xbox 360 for my primary playback device, and I've been wanting a better DVD player/HD device for my bedroom. This fits the bill. Again, thanks OP.
Thanks OP. I think I'm in for one. I know it's slow, but the analog audio outs are sweet and no shipping and no tax makes it even better. I'm not terribly worried about not getting the 5 free movies, as none of them are terribly good, at least IMHO.
Definitely an improvement, but the 64-bit bus is really going to cripple this card. I don't think at that resolution you're going to do any gaming at all.
In for one. Got shot down at two Walmarts (one said they called Sears, even though Sears was closed by that time). Finally got them to give me one at the Walmart closest to me (and farthest from Sears). All the managers signed off on it. Core system, here I come.
It does look like a nice printer, but it only uses one cartridge. I would much prefer to have a printer that had black separate from the color cartridge. Still, it's probably a nice buy.
No. The 9550 is an underclocked 9600. Completely different chips. The 9250 is running a diluted version of the 8500's chips, the R200. It's pretty old tech.
