Limiting power usage

You can't beat the convenience of ssh access right on the router. Also, no router at this cost ($0) provides the degree of control that iptables does.

Third-party firmware for soho routers

@spidey - this isn't a high priority or mission-critical thing and if I wanted to run cables, I would just run cables to the two or three machines the wireless network is serving. @Jack - thanks for your input.

Hello. I have two routers here (D-Link WBR-2310 and Netgear WGR-614 v7), and I'd like to configure at least one of them as a wireless repeater. You'll notice both of these aren't compatible with DD-WRT. Does anyone know of any third party router firmware which allows me to accomplish this...

Any gotcha's using Apple keyboards with Windows or Linux?

Apache mod_rewrite help

I finally got mod_rewrite to actually rewrite the url, now all my relative links in the re-written pages are broken. I tried adding a RewriteBase directive but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Any help would be appreciated. Below is my current htaccess file.

Trying to set up SSL with Apache

Anyone else? I know its not resolving different IP's for different ports. In addition: If I request http://[url]:443, I get a 404 response. Hope that helps.

[Wed Jan 21 22:27:16 2009] [error] [client 75.41.4.236] Invalid method in request \x16\x03\x01 Doesn't help me much. I've also discovered by using telnet over port 443 that the server is responding with unencrypted HTML - I just don't know how to fix it.
