ATI x800 XT vs Nvidia 6800 Ultra Poll

I don't like the fact that some people can't change. Nvidia has been better in the past, so they won't try a superior card from ATI. Seriously it doesn't matter what name it is for me, ATI or Nvidia. The better card wins out for me. The X800 is the better card at the moment, I'm going to wait 2...

SOYO KT600 DRAGON + no video or beep

SOYO KT600 DRAGON +V1 arrived today. I put a Athlon mobile 2400 in it, a Radeon 9500 and 256mb of 2100 Kingston Value Ram and I can't get any video :( and no post beep (the fans run). I tried a Matrox 450 agp and a pci graphics and no video. I've cleared cmos. Put the memory in the second dimm...

Onboard Sata Raid Bandwidth filled by Raptors??

Being ignorant to the onboard Sata, I'd like to know if a striped pair of Raptors is a waste? Will two 7,200's perform just as well?? I'd hate to think so, but as I said I'm ignorant to these onboarders :) Shooter

Do you think ATI can outdo Nvidia's 6800U?

I hope ATI can at least match it! I fear they are going to have a hard time, especially since I'm quite sure they won't be releasing anything that takes up a PCI's room. I also fear that the XT will be a little late :( Shooter.

Adobe CS & 64 bit

I read along time ago that the Adobe CS was ready to utilize 64bit processing. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks. Shooter

Poll: Are you excited that NV40 and RV420 are just around the corner?

I still don't trust Nvidia's marketing :( I'll wait until I see the reviews before I even think about getting excited about them.

firewire vs. usb 2.0

Agreed about the DV/Mpeg talk. If you do upgrade your software make sure you go with the new pinnacle 9, it is much better than 7 or 8. I just bought a pyro professional package. Firewire, Premiere Pro, Encore, and Audition for $440. Almost everything needed to make sweet DVD's (Aftereffects...

Backup dvd to avi?

I like FairUse (FU) for ripping directly from the DVD. Most others you have to rip to hard drive and then encode separately.

Panasonic naming has not been consistant :( And the PV-DV900 is not a good one and considered a budget model. Yet a PV-DV901 is excellent! Usually a whole thousand $'s difference. Silly huh Shooter

what can i upgrade on my computer

Depends on what software you use for vid editing! Premiere Pro, get the X.100 from Matrox $700+ Avid Xpress get the USB 2 Mojo $1,600 I always use a raid stripe for my scratch disk. But again what software do you have? Shooter.

professionla graphics car and dual processor

I'll concede I'm stuck in server benchmarks. Xeons beat Opterons in all the older benchies. The Dual Opteron 848 is meant to be neck and neck with the new Dual Xeon 3.06 with the 1mb L3. Check the 3d max scores here Shooter Ooops and it looks like I was wrong about the Matrox cards for...
