Hey all..I have an aged Dell with an i7-920. I have recently started buying components for a new build. My problem lies in the fact of whether i should just go with a Sandy Bridge i7-2600k or use my old 920 and just buy a new motherboard. Money is no issue and I would probably upgrade again...
Don't return it. Just use Omegas drivers. They optimise the 9800 pro driver paths in the 9700 pro. They also enable smoothvision 2.1. I'm getting around 16000 in 3dmark01 and 5400 in 3dmark03.
Well I went into the bios and found out that the AGP aperature was at 64mb. Turned it up to 256mb and now ran 3dmark and got 13,795. Much better but I still think it should be higher.

I've heard good things about the Zalman. Especially if you have a 130cfm fan near it. Should provide outstanding results. Why go with a silent solution though as I'm quite sure that intake fan makes plenty of noise to drown out the retail fan on the video card.
