I dont see how Nvidia can pull out of this death spiral personally. Apple just dumped them which means the guidance for Nvidia's future desktop/laptop parts is bad. If Apple expected Nvidia to be ahead in a year or so they would have been more diplomatic. They just got bent over by Rambus which...
BX6 rev 2 was the board back in the day. The features on the BIOS were unmatched. Abit was never the most reliable though and when Asus and MSI caught up in features it was all downhill for Abit.
One of their Athlon I boards I had was flawed it produced memtest errors and heavy instability...
The older EeePC had a case and plastics that were much higher quality than the Wind. I know because we had both in our home. From what I've heard the new Asus netbooks have much lower quality plastics. This EeePC I used was a 1000ha.

The GPU rankings are all messed up the 130m is actually close to the 240m in performance. You can spend $300 more than this laptop and only get 20% more performance. As far as battery life you're either going to have to seriously...
Yeah this model has severe sync/handshake issues with all HDMI components. I have a Ps3 and a Philips HDMI DVD player and it will be working fine and suddenly the screen will flash go black and then go to snow. You can go for weeks without this happening sometimes but then other days it happens...
Hi I am seeking the expertise of this forum to help me pick the best price/performance card for this aging system.
I have a 350w power supply so that might also be a factor though the PSU calculator I used said I should be ok. Though under full load with the latest cards I would be cutting...
For future information it appears that several Asrock boards use PCI-E 1.0 slots and this is where there is some confusion.
The Asrock 939 uses PCI-E 1.0a slots that boards like the 8800gt and the 3870 do work fine with.
I have found several confirmations of this on the web, including...
That price seems pretty good, no sense breaking the bank for a card that would get marginal improvements due to my CPU.
Do you have a link for that card?
Also any word on whether the 8800gs works on this motherboard, the price of those is around $100 w/rebate.
Do you think the...
Hate to clog the airwaves here but I did a brief search for the PCI-E video cards that work without issue with this board. But I didnt find much. I would appreciate if someone could post the more recent cards that are known to work well with this board.
Actually spoke too soon. The Asrock dual-sata lives!!!!!!! Knock on wood this board is hardy.
It was seemingly out for the count, but like some kind of self-healing cyborg it lives!
I had the same problem as you and not coincidentally I have a Smartpower power supply.
Smartpower is an awful design that can and does kill motherboards with bad power. My Smartpower PSU killed my motherboard and maybe the CPU.
I tried the Smartpower in a system I knew to work and it...
Well I probably didnt do the smartest thing here but I needed to know what exactly was going on.
Installed the Antec Smartpower into a motherboard and system I know is working. System posted but hung almost immediately, couldnt even get into BIOS.
Thankfully the Antec didnt destroy that...
For anyone who has a Smart Power I have a question.
The back fan on the Smart Power wasnt spinning up on boot and I was just trying to verify 100% that it should be spinning up on boot.
The reason I am asking is because this isnt a cut and dry problem. I removed the Smart Power I thought...
Honestly I wouldnt risk it. My Smart Power wasnt even overloaded. And the powersupply began to produce bad power at some point and destroyed my motherboard. The Smart Power is a bad design to begin with and overloading it could damage the components of your system.
Its not something I would...
