What's the difference between 3- and 4-pin power connectors ?

6400 vs 6600 gaming

If you buy a high-end vidcard and a low-end processor then likely the cpu is holding back the vidcard. So what i mean is you should compare different cpus with a vidcard and vice versa. Tomshardware has a nice vga-charts which will let you see the difference between same vidcard and different...

Gaming Processor

For example: when i overclocked my AMD 3000+ Venice from 1800 to 2600 mhz i got an 30% boost in games like HL2, COD, EQ2, etc, with an nvidia 6600GT. Now i have an 7800 GS (480/1450) and thats literally 2-3 times faster. So i think a fast processor will give u a nice boost. Going to an FX...

How warm is your A64?

AMD 3000+ @ 2607 mHz. 1.45 V Thermaltake bigwater SE watercooling with 1200 (max) rpm coolermaster silent fan 120mm idle 32-35 (roomtemp 20 c and 26 c) max 42-45 (roomtemp 20c and 26c) The fan is utter silent but also has low CFM

A64 venice dual channel

Wel i got 4 sticks of 512 meg corsair twinx 2-3-2-6 running at 386 mHz and very stable. Overclocked 3000+ Venice to 2607 mHz, fsb running at 289 mHz and used 133/200 divider. Memory works just fine at default 2-3-2-6 at 400 mhz but my fsb wont go higher then 297 so am sticking at 133/200...

is this a good overclock?

Nice overclock! Got my Venice 3000+ to 2609 Mhz with 1.45V. But your temps seem a little bit low for your waterkoeling setup and that overclock ?

Toms hardware Interactive CPU Charts...

Hello When checking the interactive cpu charts at tomshardware i see alot of synthetic benchmarks. Cant really test the cpu's on real life software. Even Doom III is tested while the GPU is the bottleneck so how can u possibly test different cpu's! Seems like they want to show Intel...

Blast it, did run on 2603 mhz and 2-2-2-6 timings and had the same results, so its the GPU thats holding back. Raised from 2520 to 2603 with Clockgen and it worked. But then tried to restart with CPU already at 2603 and......windows corrupt @^%#&*^$@^$%*%$##@ Luckily have a magic cd...

Well did run again and indeed resolution was at 8x6. New results: 21 - 46 - 84. That should be right :) CPU at 2450Mhz My mem runs at 420 Mhz 2,5-3-3-8 2T. 1T is instable. Going to run cpu at 2603 Mhz, and mem at 384 Mhz (2-2-2-6, 1T) Keep you posted

Ok well i overclocked my AMD64 3000+ (venice) to 2450 mhz, ram to 434, 2,5-3-3-8 and vidcard leadtek 6600GT to 550/1100 and the results (used your settings): min= 26 fps average= 62 fps max= 124 fps 0% below 25 fps 15% between 25 and 40 fps 85% above 40 fps Overclocking from 1800mhz...
