Bay area/SF is the most overrated city in the US. It's ridiculously expensive in all aspects especially housing. The nightlife is a joke. Since you're a single guy, the female/male ratio is the worst in the country. You will find many unattractive women thinking they are a 9 in SF. Too many guys...
I'd say all immigrants experienced this. Millions of people had to live "between two cultures" myself included so not sure what the big deal is really.
It was a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. But you can still get an interview with just a Bachelor's as long as it's somewhat quantitative (Math, Engineering, Stat, Econ, etc) and from a good brand name school.
My degree. They were only hiring at 4 select universities and I was graduating from one of those schools. Getting the interview is the first hurdle. Passing the rigorous interview process is the real filter.

I agree with his points. SF is an overrated shitty city all around. I moved down to LA and couldn't be happier. When people tell me they are moving to SF, I laugh at them and tell them to have fun.
