Overclocking E6420

I now have an E6420, EVGA 680i Motherboard and 4 GB G-skill PC6400 Ram. I got my ram Unlinked and set to 800Mhz, My CPU is at 1.51v ram is at 2.0v everything else is at stock. I have a scythe infinity cooler. I am only orthos stable for about 35 minutes @ 3.2Ghz. Temps top out at 62c. Can anyone...

DFI Lanparty SLI-DR Temps are showing lots of varriation

I currently have a DFI Lanparty SLI-DR MB with a 3700+ SD on it. My temps show idle at 32c oced to 2.75Ghz, stock 2.2, I can load prime up and as soon as I start the torture test my temps jump immediatley from 32c to 49c. That is way to big of a margine. I have tested the same oc on MSI Neo4...

Need Help with upgrade, Please

I appriciate everyones info on this. I think I will go with video card fist. Now the quest is is wheather to go woth the KO card from EVGA or the regular EVGA 8800 GTX. That is something that I still can not make my mind up on at the moment. Any information will be appriciated. Thanks

Need help with my 3700+

My 3700 SD is clocked @ 2.63 and Idles 28c and load never reaches 40c, Prime stable for 8 hours. What motherboard do you have. If its DFI they are known to give wrong temps. Try using a digital doc or something else with temp probes to put on the chip to get a more acurate reading.

CPU overheating.... why?

Personaly I think that is a read error. I have delt with allot of athlon Xp series and they will not function past 70c period. They will lock up or not even boot. Try to use some different software to check or a thermal probe and digital Doc. Let me know if this helps any.

Need Help with upgrade, Please

At the moment I can either get CPU, Motherboard, Ram or I can get video Card. My choice of CPU/MB/RAM is E6600, Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus, 2x1024 Patriot Extreme Performance. My choice on Video card is EVGA 8800 GTX KO Edition. I can afford either one right now. My current rig is AMD 64 3700+...
