what is the "x" in hexadecimal strings?

120 Hz monitors

Everything else being equal, at 120+ fps, 120hz certainly does make a noticeable difference. Also, I have a radeon 4850 and it most definitely cannot output > 120+ fps at any resolution above 1680x1050 in Bad Company 2, which means you wouldn't be able to tell the difference on a setup like...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PC is now a LEGIT console port

I think the bottom line is, even if you wanted to ignore most of the issues with a P2P hosting system so you could play this game we've all been anticipating, you're going to find it frustratingly bad because most people don't have fast enough connections to host a game. There's a lot of things...

Obvious troll is obvious. Or idiot is obviously an idiot. I think this is a great example for these forums to have some kind of up/down voting tool ala Digg. Then most people wouldn't even have to read this garbage and we could just ignore it.

STICKY: ATi 5xxx pre-release thread

I've been running my radeon 4850 for the past year at 85-90 C idle, and around that at load (fan speed picks up). No issues at all so far and I don't have to deal with a super loud fan. Granted this is all anecdotal evidence, but if the manufacturer says 90-100 C is within safe operating temp...

Will the PC ever have an NFL game again?

I know how you feel man. Every year around this time i get the urge to do something footballsy.....i wish madden were here on pc to fill that hole :(

ATI Catalyst 9.3s Released

all the new drivers past 8.12 I haven't been able to open CCC. Anyone else having this problem? Radeon 4850 + Vista 64 here.

I don't know if I'm just one of the weird ones, but I can play pretty well on the ps2/ps3 analog stick. I've never really played sf seriously on an arcade stick, but it would seem to me that there shouldn't be much of a difference right? They're both analog sticks, and in fact the ps2/ps3...
