Have you googled them, and tried uninstalling them? Also, laptop brand, OS info, location of files, etc.

[Updated] New motherboard dies overnight?

It's possible, unfortunately. Was it, by chance, near a carpet or something else that would conduct static electricity?

Peer Guardian is blocking all internet on my laptop; matica.hr??

I have peer guardian installed on my laptop for preventative measures, and it seems that I'm not allowed to get internet anymore. However, when I try to run firefox, opera, etc. it blocks all attempts with a range of "matica.hr" Help is very much appreciated.

What's a good DVD burner and media?

You know, we (the community) should make an FAQ on the best parts for each category (CPU, mobo, drives, etc.). We'd need to have three or four selections per category, so there could be a budget level, mid level, high leve, and possibly uber-extreme-awesome level ^_^

A little cheaper would be appreciated. I'm looking for <$60 USD, and the cheaper, the better.

What's a good DVD burner and media?

I have a flashed HL-DT-ST GWA-4164B to GSA-4166B, and it works alright, but I'd prefer one with better out of the box support. I also have Memorex DVD-R (Ritek F1) which suck.

Would need some advice for this extreme rig!

You're better off getting AM2 if it supports quad-sli (I'm not quite sure), but wow. Just wow. It can definitely support the Dell, but I think you need a special adapter or something for the Apple.

Windows will not boot; SYSTEM file corrupt or missing

Essentially, I turned on my computer, and after it went past the BIOS screen, it displayed the message "Windows cannot boot because the following file is missing or corrupted: WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM. I've tried using the recovery console, which hangs at the hard drive selection screen...

Error in the page file -> BSOD

I got an error about 2 minutes ago that said something like, "There's been an error in the page file and windows has shut down to protect itself, blah blah blah." I wrote down the stop codes: STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE5ECC000, 0x00000000, 0x80572A2C, 0x00000001) I've also got the minidump...

ok, no minidumps folder, but i'm enabling them right now

I don't see that folder in C:\, but the computer booted fine. I don't have memory dumps enabled, so it wouldn't make any sense. However, if this happens again, would you mind if I contacted you before posting on the boards?
