    C# Invalidate() only one object

Sounds like you have the random color generation in your draw function. Put it in your form load function.

    Job market for software developers

Yes, definitely. I write vb .net apps for fun and have been trying to follow the popularity herd into iPhone development. A lot of the people I graduated with were the 9-5 programmer types, and I am more of the live, eat, and breathe code type.

    Job market for software developers

Wow, great advice. Thanks everyone. I guess I'm a little anxious to start working since I have a lot of student loans waiting to be paid off. I'm also trying to get my house ready to put on the market and the economy isn't good for that either :/ @Mark - Resume sent. @Dhaval00 - Yes, I...

    Job market for software developers

I just graduated with an MS in CS and I've been looking for a job for the past month. After 60+ applications, I've gotten 2 phone interviews and nothing past that. My grades are very good, I have a few years of relevant experience, and I know my stuff, so it's hard for me to understand what...

make a splash screen for a program w/o one?

You can make a custom shaped form, but you will still have problems with aliasing... I would programmatically make a snapshot of the desktop (and windows) where the splash screen will be positioned then draw this as the background (using GDI+) on a borderless frameless form. Then draw your...

Looking for Home Control Hardware that connects to and is programmable by computer

I'd like to automate a few things around the house and I haven't been able to find what I need to make it happen. Specifically I need some kind way to control power via my computer. (Hopefully with a product that has a .Net API) My best guess is that I would need some kind of PCI card (or...

Question for graphics pros; involves 3D models

Wow, thanks guys. Which would be better Autocad or 3DS Max for something like this? Again, I don't have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff, so simple is better.

Question for graphics pros; involves 3D models

So I have a really basic C sharp graphics engine and I'd like to convert my school's campus map into a 3D environment and load it as a directx mesh (.x) This of course would be normally very time consuming, but I figure there must be a way to make short work of it. I don't have a lot of...

    Video cards in a shuttle??

Although Shuttles have less wattage their power supplies are of a much higher quality when compared to others, so they can take a lot more. Check SFFTech.com. They discuss this issue all the time there...

    HTML: Font Jaggy Edges

If I am correct antialiasing is based on windows settings. The only real way (as far as I know) to guarantee antialiased text is to put it in photoshop and set the smoothing appropriately.

    Looking for Dreamweaver help...

It drives me nuts when dreamweaver uses (p) tags for line breaks. I would rather use (br) and (a) tags for more precise control. Anyone know of a way to change how dreamweaver handles this.

    I'm dumb... Visual Basic Help...

You're probably looking for something more like a list. That is a List(Of <object type> ) this way you can traverse the list with indexes and still have access to each objects properties without using a DirectCast()
