I just found out that the psu isn't the right one for that board. Hopefully I haven't done any damage... I'll try to find the correct one and see if it works.
Hi, I hope someone can help me. Here's my situation, I got a Dell GX110 for free and it worked fine. My biggest issue with it was that it only had 128MB of ram, and wouldn't accept my 256MB SDRAM, I believe it's due to the fact that the Intel 810E chipset doesn't recognize 256Mb memory modules...
For all those who do have the Asus A8V deluxe, the board now officially supports the opteron line of cpu's. Didn't bother to see if there all there but it had the 165, 170, 175, some single cores and of course the FX-60. All with bios rev 1017, which actually has been out for a while.
1. did you lock your PCI/PCIe bus?
2. your ram problably can't OC very much so I'd keep the timings where they are and use a multiplier on it. i.e. FSB at 240 and 5/6 ram multi puts your ram back at stock speeds. 240 * 5/6 = 200. Your ram multi appears (just read) as 333 instead of 5/6, same...
I've looked at the Asus website and my board A8V deluxe supports the AMD X2 dual core processors, but there's no mention of the dual core opteron's.
I'd like to get the 165, but will it work? Will it show up as an X2?? or do I have to wait untill Asus adds it to their bios?
Just cause it's a DVI connector doesn't mean your getting/using a digital signal. DVI connectors carry Digital and Analog signal (well sometimes both, and sometimes just Digital or Analog).
