Does anyone still make a slot load DVD drive?

Well, most if not all my new case builds involve mini-ITX cases, so I buy these now. The PATA version was only sold at Directron.com for a long time, then it sold out. The slot loader from Pioneer was on hiatus for like a year. There is no mention if it works with small discs. Anyone care to...

Finally, the Pioneer SATA slot loading drive appeared, and at a reasonable price. http://www.directron.com/dvrts08.html Newegg has them now too.

Intel D201GLY Board - My Experience

It appears now that the D201GLY2A is the same board but back to active fan cooling. Never had a problem with the fanless solution, but then again, my exhaust fan in the case I recommend helps with cooling it since it is nearby.

Oh and it does not matter if it is ver 1 or 2. If they make a $100 board I will buy it. With a recent Intel chipset it can run compiz just fine.

You have to use the now pulled intel rpm driver, works on 32 bit only. I have them if you need it. It was made for SuSE 10.2 but works for any distro.

Temps for idle are 43/50, assuming that is like chipset and cpu, and at load, about 53/68. This is within Linux. I can't remember what the new programs are for temp monitoring in Windows, but it was mentioned somewhere around on anandtech a few months ago. I cannot say for Windows CE 6. It...

both windows xp and SuSE 10.3 with the now taken down 32bit sis driver. Temps do read around 68c while doing heavy processing, but that is still normal. As this board does not allow vcore adjustments, I'm not sure what they are referring to. Running a C2D at only 1.2ghz at 65nm is plenty cool...

Well, just because the heatsinks runs hot does not mean it will run like crap. I just encoded a dvd to xvid for hours on end with all the post processing involved on the D201GLY1, and it is stable. What is more, is that I have the one fan in the case set to a very minimal speed with a fan mate...

77 + 7.70 for me to ship. I just bought mine from the same place I did the d201gly, www.mini-box.com, for $82.76. As usual, will test it out. Perhaps SuSE 10.3 will natively recognize the video card.

Cannot find any wireless networks

seems simple enough, but wouldn't a completely new adapter fix the issue? Of course, he put it in and not me, but somehow I feel both are not seeing any networks for the same reason, not due to a signal issue.

I was at a client yesterday, and one of his computers could not see his router. Yet, my laptop and his and his printer all connect to it just fine. The computer via the Windows or software from the Dell 1450 USB adapter, both say they cannot find anything. Well, I said most likely the adapter...
