Which P4 DDR motherboard should i get?

I would go with the Asus P4b266 if it was me. There boards are very reliable. I speak from experience. I have one myself.

Klipsch Promedia speakers - are they really that good?

I have them and they absolutely rock. They are one of the best investments I've ever made for my pc. Just make sure you have a good sound card to go with them, such as a audigy. The old sb live doesn't do them justice. :)

Caution: Western Digital Hard Drive.

I have three computers all running WD hard drives and none have failed me yet. My oldest on a 20 gig has been working for two years now. I love WD!

Compaq p4-1.7g seems sluggish, advice?

Bobby where do you get off calling a p4 slow? I have a p4 1.8 and it screams! I'm very happy with it and IT IS VERY STABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a consensus on the best IDE drives now?

I would go with the WDs! They are the most reliable drive out there. I have never had one go bad on me yet!

I would go with the new special edition WD 120 gig harddrives That have an 8 meg buffer. They are just as fast as scsi!

Pick me a Digital Camera

I have a Toshiba PDR M4 and I really love it. I have had it for about 2 years now and it has always been reliable. Plus you can upgrade their firmware through there website to make them even better as time goes on.

How much does a harddrive affect performance?

I bought the new WD 100 gig special edition hard drive with an 8 meg buffer and I really can see the difference. HArd drive speed really matters!

AMD or Intel

Intel is king for a reason and that is they are the only ones that make a half decent processor!
