Any recommendations for a solid Gigabit Wireless Router?

Well Dell delayed the shit out of our orignal order, and it seems like the router will never comke into stock. We're going to go with a Netgear WNDR3700 instead. I'll try to post some network transfer times. Once i get it in place. JAck, if you are only getting 58MB/s that's probably...

We ordered a D-Link DIR-685. It trumped the throughput of all other devices benchmarked by almost 2x. Dell sold it to us for $220. Thanks for all the help!

if it can push 600-750mbps from lan to wan, that should be more than sufficient to saturate my LAN-LAN connections. Beats the tar out of the current 90-95mpbs transfer rates i'm getting on 10/100

Those numbers are in mbps. The top three are all going to be high enough to fully saturate my current hard drives, and that's what I'm looking for.

Emulex, did you read? (sorry, I know it was long, but trying to provide details) I'm concerned with wired performance... Crusty + Jack MDS: seems you both agree to use a switch + a router. I agree too, and if i was buying the gear myself, I'd save some dough and get a good combo. Here's...

Any recommendations for a solid Gigabit Wireless Router?

I'm looking for an all-in-one device to give wired network performance a boost. We've got a beast of a file server (4x1TB RAID5 that HDtach rates at average 275MB/s) and want to crank up the transfer rates across the network. Most of the other desktops in the network have high performance...

    RAID 1

yep. RAID1 makes an exact copy of the first drive on the second drive. if one goes down, the other will still be functional. replace the bad drive and the RAID controller can rebuild the array from the working hard drive.

Internal is cheapest, if you have the space, and if your mobo supports RAID.

Ideas for mass personal media storage

What you need to do first is decidde how you want to deal with your storage array. NAS is a great option if you have multiple PC's in the network that all need access Internal Array is great option too, if you have room in your case and a PSU that can handle the extra drain. You can...

Ideas for mass personal media storage

Nope, software raid on Vista and XP works just fine, but if you are going to make your OS RAID'd you have to hit f6 when installing windows to add the RAID drivers. Personally, i prefer hardware RAID, because it is faster, and it works independently of your mobo. So for example, if your mobo...

    RAID0 Recovery

No, I dont think you read the post entirely before responding. I understand what striping is, and I understand how RAID system work or I wouldnt be attempting this recovery. I can boot the drive that didnt fail just fine. If i take the circuit board off the live drive and put it on the dead...
