We ordered a D-Link DIR-685. It trumped the throughput of all other devices benchmarked by almost 2x. Dell sold it to us for $220. Thanks for all the help!

if it can push 600-750mbps from lan to wan, that should be more than sufficient to saturate my LAN-LAN connections. Beats the tar out of the current 90-95mpbs transfer rates i'm getting on 10/100

Those numbers are in mbps. The top three are all going to be high enough to fully saturate my current hard drives, and that's what I'm looking for.

yep. RAID1 makes an exact copy of the first drive on the second drive. if one goes down, the other will still be functional. replace the bad drive and the RAID controller can rebuild the array from the working hard drive.
