I assume you're referring to the Mac mini. Yes, a 6x6 box (the Mac mini) costs more than a minitower from Dell that consumes a good bit more space. None of the PCs as small beat the Mac mini on price. The closest competitor on size and features was some AOpen box that was slower and cost over...
Try doing some research. Apple's prices aren't inflated if you try to build the same machine feature for feature. Out of curiousity, one day I tried to spec out a machine with all the same stuff as an iMac, even down to the remote and camera. The Apple machine was cheaper. Why are PCs...
Yeah, like the others said, this is old news, so meh. But seriously guys, marketing is marketing. Take it for what it is. A lot of other companies do similar things (ever seen car commercials? They're always claiming that the competition sucks). Somebody might say "But Microsoft doesn't do...
If they keep making mobile 754s, then I wouldn't expect much of an issue for the 754 platform, as long as you can snag a good price on that mobile. For the record, running a rev. e Mobile 3400+ on my Asus K8N-E Deluxe. Only way to get one of the newest cores on 754 is to go mobile CPUs...
If you're going to upgrade the memory, an upgrade to 1.5 in my opinion probably isn't worth the money. 1GB will do just fine for WoW and nearly everything else. Running WoW on my PBG4 1.67GHz, 1GB RAM, 9700 w/128MB and it runs great.
I have to add this to the thread too:
AMD (and the motherboard manufacturers) specifically state that all AMD CPUs should be run with an HSF. So, if you run your Athlon with an HSF, and the Athlon fails, AMD is liable under warranty...or you can RMA the dead CPU. If you're dumb enough to turn...

<< You know how much of AMD's market consists of overclockers? Maybe 1% or so? It's a pretty insignificant market for them to invesnt extensive research in. >>
100% bullshit. Try 75+%. Practically everybody that uses these forums are OCers. Think about it for a sec, how the hell can it...
<< My reasoning for building with Intel is because they have better heat protection on their products. >>
If you knew how to build/work with a computer, you wouldn't need to take the heat protection factor into account.
Edit: I'm using Windows XP and NTFS partitions. I have one primary NTFS partition, and an extended with three logical partitions formatted NTFS. It only seems to do this on the first partition...
I bought a new 60 GB 5400 RPM Western Digital hard drive at Best Buy this morning since they had the $50 after rebate deal. The drive appears to work just fine when accessing data and programs, but for some reason whenever I try to change partitions or access partition info through PTMagic, the...
