Yup. That's what the RAID was used for...an independent movie I shot and edited. I figured that it was a fairly inexpensive way to get the TB of storage I needed for such a large video project, and it was my intention to have it backed up....but the failure beat me to it. What's weird is...

PC froze up on me last night, so I turned the sucker off and attempted a cold boot. Dead as a doornail. Wouldn't start at all. Figured it could be the PSU, mobo or the actual power switch. Borrowed a friend's PSU, hooked it up, started right up. All clear? Nope. Once it came back to...

It was easy. I just reversed the flow of the flux capacitor, as suggested by Insomniak. I didn't bother to change the jumper setting from "slave" when I took the WD out of my old computer. And the Seagate system drive was set to "cable select" out of the box. Maybe with some drives those...

Thanks to all of you that actually bothered to help! I double checked the drive and re-arranged the jumper settings on the drives (one was set to cable select the other was set to slave) - and bam, PC booted without a fail. Windows recognized the drive in the Disk Management screen and it's...

Thanks for the help, guys. I'll probably give Partition Magic a try. Otherwise I can always pick up an OEM drive for a decent price. I don't think I'm going to use Kill Disk again.....

Thanks to the few of you that are trying to help. My IDE controller is fine because my system drive is working - system drive is master and the erased data drive is slave. The jumpers are correct as well, I checked that before I installed the drive. I suppose I could swap out a different...

I've got WinXP installed on a new Seagate 120GB IDE hard drive, no problems. I used Active@ Kill Disk to wipe out a WD 120GB IDE hard that was in my old computer. And now, when I connect it to the slave on the primary IDE cable, I always get a boot error and my system restarts. If I leave it...

If you don't want to troubleshoot it yourself (which is what most folks around here will probably suggest), you might want to tell us where you live as it might not be convenient for me to recommend a place in Minneapolis if you live in Honolulu. :)

I've put off my build for too long. I'm just gonna pick up a Winchester or a Clawhammer. I seriously doubt that I'll notice that much of a difference between 400 and 333 when I fill up all for DIMM slots. Best of luck to the rest of you....hopefully you get your Venice CPUs relatively soon!
