Best HS and Fan Combo??/

Either Thermalright sp-97 with Tornado, or a Zalman 7000. I'd take the Zalman, but that's because I want a quiet computer. Both are very effective coolers though.

What is the max safe voltage for a P4 2.6C?

Above 1.7V is really pushing it. I'd try and keep it below about 1.65, or 1.6V (read in bios). My 2.6GHz needs around ~1.6V to reach 3.15GHz, but I've not thoroughly tested it yet.

Do you give a rats ass about Prime95?

For me, Prime95 is a necessary but not sufficient condition for stability. I'm happy at the 12 hour mark or so, but I also use Memtest as well. Apart from that, I've got some simulations I use for my work that thrash the beejesus out of a CPU, so they're good as well.

Case Help?

It's not completely wrong; a good solid 420+W PSU will be fine for your needs. But unless you're running a large number of power-hungry devices, a good solid 380W PSU would do just as good a job. Stability is important, as is actually meeting the specifications. Work out your power budget for...

Poll: Does your PC's noise annoy you?

Mine's not that loud, and I'm making it even quieter soon. I need to be able to run it at full load while I sleep in the same room, so keeping it quiet is important. I don't mind a bit of noise during the day, but some of the screamers I've seen at lans make me shudder.

P4 2.6c AI7 Overclock

I've been playing around with a very similar setup (see sig). The major difference is that my RAM is Corsair 3200LL, running at 2-3-2-7. I can push 216FSB (~2.8GHz) running 1:1, and can make 242FSB (~3.15GHz) when I use 5:4 (both tested stable in Prime95 and Memtest). I'd go for higher, but...

Case Help?

I've been very happy with my Sonata so far. Looks awesome, easy to use, great PSU. The 1080 AMG also was pretty good, from memory. Somewhat monolithic as far as size and weight go; portability was part of my concern with it. But most things they make are worth recommending.

Another Sonata Question: HOW to add the front fan?

To those that have installed a front fan on the Sonata, was the temperature drop inside significant? I'm debating about what additional cooling I should buy; I'm definitely getting a Zalman 7000, but I'm not sure if I need a front fan, and/or a replacement for the back one. I'm looking at...

POLL: what are your P4 temps under load ??

Voted: 60-70C 2.6@2.8, 216FSB. Stock cooling, Abit mobo, no thermal paste, Australian summer, all of which don't help the temperature that much. I also run at ~3.15, 5:4. Either way, the temperatures are well above 60. I'm buying a new HSF(Zalman 7000) later this week, along with another...

Oh snap! Antec Super Lanboy looks totally DOPE!

And to think I almost bought a Super Lanboy over my current case. What was I thinking? The 1080AWP was looking good, but too monolithic for my likings. I need to LAN with this case.

...I second all of that. My rig (see sig) runs fine at 3.15 GHz on stock cooling, though it gets a little warm in the Australian summer. I'm going to get the Zalman 7000AlCu, and another 120mm case fan to keep it a bit cooler/quieter, but it's probably not strictly necessary.

Best memory to OC a 2.6C chip with

PC3700 will allow you to run at a higher bandwidth than, say PC3200. If you ran them both at 200MHz (the default for 3200), the only difference should be in the latencies. Take a look at this article. The benefits of high-bandwidth/bad latencies/1:1 are compared with low-bandwidth/good...

3.0C v. 3.06b cost benefit analysis- need your input!

If you don't need the features of the IC7-Max 3, then check out the IC7, or even the IS7/AI7. All are great boards. And they're a lot, lot cheaper than the Max3.
