Rusin, On your original post you should change Memory clocks to Memory rate, because technically the clock is 1100 MHz but the rate is 2200 MHz.

That would mean 4870x2 is only 30-40% faster than 4870, since a card that is 40% faster than the 9800GTX is already close to 9800GX2 performance. Also what benchmark are they using? Vantage?

ATI and nVIDIA do. Performance/watt is considered the best determination of how good the architecture is. That being said, I expect performance/watt for these new GPUs to be on par with the previous generation.

Actually, it's two copies of the same textbook. One student reads the first chapter while the second student reads the second chapter, and then they exchange ideas (framebuffer).

Nitro, the students solve different problems at the same time. Let's say a 256 bit student can solve 50 problems in ONE HOUR, and a 512 bit student can solve 100 problems in the same amount of time. If you have 2 256 bit students, then student A can solve the first 50 problems in one hour...

nRollo, you posted the financial results from fiscal 1Q 2008 ... which was actually in APRIL 2007 (check the date). Last quarter nVIDIA was about 7 cents short of expectations, due to decreasing margins.
