Uhh... I doubt Syntax is letting their 42" go for $1500. If you price grabber that model, it's $2500 minimum last time I checked. I guess this could be some black friday in march type of deal.?!?!? If it is Syntax for sure, let me know... b/c I'm buying and reselling.
Heck, I think I might go for the 42" plasma in that ad w/o rebates before going with the no-name LCD. At least I've heard of AKAI before (not that it's great).
Hey... did you guys get the Syntax LT37HVS (the one with the built in HD tuner)? That is an AMAZING PRICE! I guess you found that deal here in ATHD?
I got to remember to start coming here again for deals. I got so into the Techbargains, that I don't check AT as much (too easy to get...
You might also want to check out the Syntax Olevia at buydig.com or beach camera.com. right now you can grab the 32" model for $839 shipped (no tax) after $300 rebate. Granted, that's a lot of rebate to wait for, but the final price is nice.
Check pricegrabber for more options. I think...

I have the EXACT same problem. Ugh.

I guess for $80 after tax, I can't complain too much, esp with a 3 year warranty. I got killed by a $80...
Circuit City had the Sir-T451 recently for $250 - $50 rebate (VISA Giftcard) - 15% (in form of CC gift card)... for a total, after TX tax, of approximately $190-ish.
I took it back b/c the interface was slow, the QAM channel tunning was hokey, and the OTA tuner wasn't much better than my...
How much you really want for it? It'll be tought to get your BIN price conserding all the 19" models out for between $300 and $400 (especially like this 1905FP dell deal).
Why don't you wait and save up the $$, and then pay cash with your debit card. You'll really enjoy the TV much more if you aren't paying for it every month for the next 2 years.
