I work in product design and regularly transfer a few gb a day, the servers at work are able to handle 10gbit, when transfering files to the servers at work i regularly top 85-90mb/s and would quite like the benefit of being able to transfer more. Beyond that, I generally get excellent speeds...

Decided to say what the hell, ordered a dual port intel nic (EXPI9402PT) that supports teaming on the driver level, and a TL-SG3210 managed switch that supports LACP. Will connect the GPON router to the switch via two cat6, then switch to dual port nic via cat6 and see what happens.

Hi guys, Bit of a networking newb here, so please bare with me. I'm connected to a GPON fibre optic router with a 2gbit down 1gbit up service, however because my workstations network controller is a 1gbit device I am limited to 1gbit down and up. Each of the 4 ethernet ports on the router...

I think it's a case of density really, Nuro is only really feasible in Tokyo and very close proximity, so in many ways a lot like the google fibre rollout, it's just accessible to more users because Tokyo is a much denser area. I have no doubt if they actually allowed it, google fibre could...

What are your go to ways to speed up a computer?

Depends on your end goal. OS/Application usage - SSD Games - the beefiest GPU you can afford. Both are cheap fixes for a slower machine, providing the framework is already there to make the most of them. If the motherboard is old, for example, and has only sata1, or a slow cpu, or god...

Lenovo laptop - garbled display

I would guess that it's trying to force the external monitors EDID/resolution on the internal LCD, if you can, connect it again to the external monitor and drop the resolution down low, uninstall the graphics drivers and shut down, disconnect external monitor and boot up.

System wakes from sleep spontaneously- MB or PS problem

Used to happen to me, turned out to be a "wake up on" stipulation for the network controller, after turning off all of those including usb, it stopped booting up randomly

It's normally priced at 4,743 yen per month (about $46), but I signed up through an agent while out shopping and they basically set me up to pay only 3,200 yen. So, about $31 a month, or £18.62 New house already had fibre to the home, so they waived the $400 installation fees too

Not maximum speed of service, just maximum speed of onboard nic. service speed is 2gbit down 1gbit up. Not bad for a personal home connection :)
