I've played just a bit of it; have my RTTS player started and boy, the progression to The Show seems like it's going to take forever! I went with The Wizard archetype (Ozzie, et al) and my stats at the plate are, to put it lightly, subpar. I also started Diamond Dynasty and have played 3 games...

If you're a DSLR user, what's keeping you from going to mirrorless?

Natively? No. Even Canon m-series cameras require an adapter to mount EF & EF-S lenses to the mount of the m-series cameras. The difference in distance from sensor to lens requires some sort of adaptation or different lens design.

I think what you're looking at there is really a good bet, especially given your desire to shoot astrophotography. If you're good with manual focus, I don't think there's anything better than the Rokinon option given the price. The 18-70 is technically faster, since it only varies between 3.5...

Lens choice for Nikon d5300

For straps, Black Rapid or Peak Design (Slide) for "high end", or knock offs on the web. For prime lens <= $250, I'd get a 35mm 1.8G. Otherwise, if you are willing / able to use manual focus successfully on a d5300, maybe look at Rokinon or Samyang. Or a used 18-70 f3.5-4.5 nikon (the OG kit...

Len filter for Solar Eclipse

Are you planning at pointing your camera at the sun to try to capture the eclipse at all, even if you're not in the direct path? If so, you should probably get a solar filter. Otherwise, there's no reason to get one if you're not going to try to take pictures directly of the sun.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that some of the Griffey and even Chris Archer tasks are BR / Ranked games or Events. I don't play any of those modes...

I finally, FINALLY, hit 2 doubles with Dave Winfield! I haven't advanced anything or opened / redeemed any more conquest rewards as the last conquest game I played last night was a 4 inning win over another one of the Blue Jays strongholds that went to queue and then the servers went down...

My gold starter was Jim Palmer; it took me a handful of games to get his 40k's, and my reward was...Tony Perez. :/ I never figured out conquest in MLB 16, but my first run through this year, I've taken over the entire western half of the US and am making my way through the Central Divisions...

I was planning on taking the 29th off so I could play all day (best buy is supposed to be shipping me my copy on the 28th), but I just had my APR scheduled for the 29th... *grrr*.... Maybe I'll get luck and receive it evening of the 27th.

Yeah, I hope the servers are stable from the start this year; last year was attrocious, especially because an online connection had to be made before the main menu even loaded.
