Internal or External Hard Drive???

Yes and no. External hard drives should technically have a longer service life; b/c they are NOT always in use when a computer is on. If you have a quality enclosure & do NOT drop.abuse the hard drive it should last longer. All of this is assuming you get a good hard drive to begin...

it could probably be done, but you would need a system akin to the ICARUS satellite from that 007 movie. You could use a concentrated reflection of sunlight to heat any amount of water or air. of course I have no clue what I'm talking about, so maybe not

CPU Temperature

best convert those temps to celsius...most people here only work with celsius in terms of computers. Fahrenheit seems to be only used to rectal temps and the temp outside; if you post temps in F people would have to convert to C to help you...and that means extra effort and us computer nerds...

Rent's nVsilencer5 fun

I put one on my PNY 6800GT, works just fine, no snapping, all parts seemed very high quality. Runs 52C idle and and maxes out at 72C running rthdribl for 2 hours; runs at 430/1200. Maybe to just overtightened (if you overtighten anything, you can snap it)

Just installed a Nv Silencer 5 on my GT

6800 cooling solutions?

Arctic Cooling is releasing ther NV Silencer 4 in a few weeks. It will be a two slot solution and if it works as good as their other VGA silencers, it will easily outperform stock solutions (as well as exhuast the hot air out the back of the case, no back into it like current cooling...

What (recent) card has the best 2D quality?

I *believe* Matrox is still the recognized industry leader for 2D graphics. For 3D graphics...go with a highend ATi or Nvidia.

True. I should have stated that if you leave the PNY completely STOCK (even with the crappy tape on the DDR), your warranty will last for 3 years. Mine would have TECHNICALLY expired the first hour I received mine (got rid of the tape on the mem). But I got it for cheap. I find the risk is...

recommendation for tv tuner card?

Hauppauge is one of the BEST cards out there (most of their's have an hardware MPEG encoder on board, not that cheezy ATi software decoder). But he said for $35, so thats a no go. If you can spend a little more, get the Hauppauge PVR250, awesome capture quality, great features, etc). I have...

WRONG!!!!!!! The new PNY warranty is 3 years (so if you bought one now, you'd be covered until 2007, time for a new card anyways). They did away with the controversial "lifetime" warranty (no longer mentioned on their products). The box (on the side) says its an automatic 1 year warranty plus...
