I decided to go with a Casetronic C138, I'm still waiting for my board to come in but I'll try to update this thread and post some relevant bits when I start building.
I'm still interested in case ideas for this board. I think I might be able to find that iStar Storm case that someone linked above but I'm curious what other ppl have come up with.
My fav little Ma&Pa shop just started listing the d201gly2 (finally) so I'm now seriously looking at casing options etc.... Looking forward to seeing what you come up with mooose
BWT I've seen a number of posts on other forums etc suggesting that the tall heatsink is easily replaceable.
Hey steelh,
1) Great glad to hear that you did check this.
2) Yes if you didn't buy it separately then you're probably using the integrated NIC.
3) To see if you have an IP address goto a command prompt and type "ipconfig" and hit enter. You should then see some output like:
The bold part...
Did you check your cables?
Are you using the Integrated NIC?
Do you have an IP address? (can you ping anything? can you access any site by IP instead of by name [ie: 64.233.167.147 for google]?)
I'm with nerp on this one. Personally I believe there are two rules.
1) Decide what you want and ignore the price/performance argument(s).
2) Buyer beware, do your research before making the purchase (in this case storagereview.com [or similar] and some postings here would have saved you...
Because none of the other boards are $80 or less.
I'm definitely open to something smaller. The only things I've seen so far are really fuggly, don't include a PSU, require changing the heatsink, or are horribly overpriced.
I really need case ideas for this board. The one I linked above is only getting kinda "so so" reviews (especially it's PSU). I'd like to stay with the stock HS (since that makes the build easiest).
I've read stories and posts of other people installing Ubuntu and other *nixes on it. The only bad thing I've heard about it is that it doesn't have very good support for Standby mode (but it was unclear whether this was a design issue or a BIOS/Driver issue).
Ok I have a kinda noob'ish question. If I buy something like:
http://www.ncix.com/products/i...420&manufacture=Apevia
Which has a 420W PSU does that imply it's drawing 420W all the time or that the max it can provide is 420? Is there such a thing as under-loading a modern PSU? (ie: If I only...
Anyone know any good sources for SFF PSUs?
I'm thinking of getting the d201gly2 from logic supply but the PicoPSUs are $39 and the accompanying power bricks are about $28. I can almost live with $39 for the PicoPSU but adding the brick on top seems like a rip off.
