Skylake base clock overclocking on non-K CPUs ????

Hi AT, I'll get right to it. I am upset and surprised to find after googling, that the new base-clock overclocking that is touted on the new Skylake CPUs does not appear to be available on the non-K SKUs. To me historically, base-clock overclocking means you are stuck with a fixed CPU...

Recovering data to NTFS from linux

GParted is in PartedMagic. I dunno what happened but now I can copy to the external NTFS so I won't complain.

A friend just brought me a laptop where the hard drive "died." The NTFS partition is partly corrupt and windows is pooched, safe mode no worky. He says if I can recover his data I can have the thing. Fine by me, since I can sell it to a friend. According to diagnostics, the disk is fine...

Thanks guys. I'm not saying that I know for sure it's only the video card, there are probably other factors. I didn't have my kill-a-watt in use for this. It has a lot to do with habits, and for one spell I was unemployed and gaming a lot, and later gaming a bit on the IGP, but not as much...
