I am not sure. But the first VP930 was advertised as 6 Bit + FRC in Germany, while the british Viewsonic site wrote 8 Bit and the american Site did not make any statements at all. The current VP930 is stated as 8 Bit on all sites.

I switched from a VP930 to a VP2030 and can say that the VP2030 is a better monitor in every aspect but one, namely that you cannot use true 75 Hz on the VP2030 whereas on the VP930 you can.

Sound logical, one just has to know that and not mess too much with driver controls unless absolutely necessary. But is that also true for monitors that offer gamma settings like Eizo ones?

Not all monitors do that, some display true 75 Hz and Viewsonic can even go as high as 85 Hz. Problem is the crystal reactivity, because for 60 Hz you "only" need 16.6 ms, while for 75 Hz you need 13.3 ms. So 75 Hz might show more smearing of colors, but for PAL video it's still preferable (25...

Actually the german service line also told me that it is "not 8 Bit", but without telling me what it is then. I can tell you that it definitely is not pure 8 bit, because I used an 8 bit VP191 before. On pure 8 bit panels there is only ONE setting at which it can display all 16.7 mio. colors...

Well, the VP191 was a true 8 bit monitor. The drawback is that there is only one setting at which you can use the full range of 16.7 mio colors. As soon as you change anything the number of colors decreases, thus banding in color gradients increases.

I am quite sure Overdrive can process in real-time, but most likely it has to start processing at least the first frame (with the P20-2 maybe the first 3) before displaying it. So you would start with a lag of 1 to 3 frames before the monitor starts displaying from then on you have...
