EIDE hard drive not found

i've just tried using XP discs now and it appears to have formatted the drive, but refuses to boot from it. When i tried to do it again with XP it said that there is a version of Windows on there from the first install so i know something is on there, but I still cannot boot from it. Isn't the...

EIDE hard drive not found

I'm trying to install a new primary hard drive in my PC and for some reason, the BIOS sees it as the Primary IDE with my DVD drive as the slave. For some reason though, when i try to install vista from a clean install, it doesn't see it at all and is asking for drivers. I've had to do that with...

Vista won't let me shutdown

Does anyone have any idea why since I installed vista, I can't shutdown or restart my pc? If I want to shut it down, I got to hold the power button down for 5 seconds or restart i have to press reset. When I tell it to shutdown or restart, it does close it down, but it just hangs on a blank...

Vista and SLI

even still, i just want to make sure this is working for the time being. Everything was in SLI before when XP was loaded, but I can't find the setting here in Vista.

Vista and SLI

How do I know that my 2 7800 GT boards are still in SLI? I downloaded the new Nvidia drivers but i haven't seen yet an option within the Nvidia control panel for SLI, so I'm not 100% confident that SLI is present. Where are the setting options to turn or verify SLI is on or off?

Vista and SLI

I just downloaded the Vista specific drivers, and I'm currently running 2 7800GTs in SLI (or at least they were in XP prior). How can I make sure these cards are still running in SLI-mode or where is the option in the new Vista drivers to turn SLI back on? thanks

Blue screen with file transfering

I am getting a Blue Screen everytime I try to copy my music from my old machine to my new machine. It randomly occurs, and I have no idea what's causing it. Its tough to write down what the BSOD says but after 3 fails I got this message: DRIVE_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or something like that...

Drive problem

Finally got Windows XP installed. But I can't figure out why the disc drive is not accessing the discs while in Windows. First of all, I know the drive works because I was able to install Windows. However on a clean install, a disc in the drive either locks up 'My Computer' or causes Windows...

yeah, thats what I thought it was. the chip on this board is as follows: P5N33 0209 BC86 GSV13 if i think right, i believe it is 0209 on this board, meaning that I can't use the 920 on it without a flash to 0212. Would a cheap Celeron D work on this board and the 0209 bios it has just...

i've been reading about the Bios may need an update for this board with the 920 processor. Is there any way to update it to support it, because I have no idea what's on this board. I don't see where it may be labeled as to what version it has.

i have tried the ASUS tech support webpage, by trying it out of the case and using a pen/screwdriver to short the power switch connectors, with nothing but the power connected, video card mounted, RAM mounted, plus CPU and fan, and again, no response other than power (fans and MB LED on)...

so far, i still get the same thing. I followed the book to the letter, and still nothing. Also, to turn it off, i need to hold the power button down. I don't think that's normal either.

nah, no wool. I like cotton... anyways... I know it's getting power because the motherboard LED light is on, the CPU fan turns on, and so does the light in the power supply. I think thats a hint.
