who is wrenching today?

Quiet day. Spent this morning rebuilding a 4T65E. It's been a while I've done one. The real trick is shimming up the clutch packs to prevent a P1811 code. I swear the engineers had their heads in the wrong place when they designed this unit.

Depending on which transmission you have, since there are a couple of possibilities. Ford used either an E4OD or a 4R70W. In both cases it seems that you're losing pressure on the forward clutch circuit. With the 4R70W, you might have a defective 2-3 accumulator piston. Forward pressure...

transmission flush in older car?

Do not flush your transmission! Older Hondas are known for the clutches in the drums, and the torque converter, for coming apart. The new transmission fluid, with its detergents, will loosen deposits from those clutches inside the unit. Those deposits will then go into the filter and clog it...
