here are my results after colour calibration using the spyder2 unit on my LG L226WT: I was very surprised how well the LG L226WT was calibrated from the factory. I could clearly see there was too much white and gamma upon a factory reset, but after the software had adjusted the white levels...

I'll have to investigate again, but I believe last time I tried newegg would not deliver to Canada. I can only examine about 4 or 5 computer hardware providers from work, but so far the only one I have been able to locate of this model was refurb. I'll have to look at a few more from home...

thank you very much for your thoughts. though I do enjoy gaming, I think I'd actually rather have superior picture quality than perfect gaming personally. I wish I had some experience with actual LCD use so I'd know in advance, but oh well. FPS games are not as important to me as WoW for...

I really want a GX2 but I just can't justify the huge extra cost for only a 20" monitor, when I can find a really nice 22" samsung for half its price. I don't understand that pricing scheme at all. :(

forgive my ignorance, but I am surprised to see no 22" monitors on the list? There are so many out there for affordable prices now, are none of the panels in them any good? Seems like with such a minor price difference, you get more viewing surface for a marginal price increase from 20-22"...

PC DVD playback problem

ok here's an update. the hard drive died in my htpc, so I reloaded windows on a new drive and reinstalled all my video codecs, windows media player 11, powerdvd 6, etc. The dvd video and audio are looking great now using the audio driver from Microsoft's website, so I wonder if the beta...

I'll be working on this tonight and will report back what I can accomplish. starting with getting the proper updated video drivers (I will let you know what graphics chip), changing the auzentech driver settings to 48khz output and ensuring I set hardware acceleration in the PowerDVD software...

Auric: I know it seems odd to have such a high end audio card in such a low end PC, but they were just leftover parts from here and there which cost me nothing, and I always thought 2D video processing was nothing for ANY modern video card, and I used to watch DVD's on my 600mhz Coppermine...

Windows shuts down OK, PSU will not turn off. (New Build)

you try doing a clear cmos? sounds like it's stuck always going into power save mode instead of powering off, which can be a bios power saving setting. I'd try clearing the cmos, then doing a bios flash if there's a newer release.
