VAIO dvd not recognized.. PLEASE HELP!!!

I ordered a sony internal dvd burner for a friend of mine for her k45 Vaio lapy. although the faceplates didn't match up my thought was that replacing the stock cd-rw/dvd with a sony dvd-rw would be the best approach. I ordered from newegg and the drive came bare, not refurbished or anything...

So my wife says to me, "We have to talk..."

Zap, I have that exact lappy and have had it for about 3 months now..... nice machine. I don't have any complaints at all... The only games I have played on it are Halo and a couple need for speeds and it is fine. good machine and a good feature set.

Core Duo vs. Turion

agreed.... I will say that this machine (core duo) is a bit faster at loading certain things. in all honesty I am typically an AMD guy but my last HP P4 was such a trooper that I decided to stick with Intel. You won't be disappointed in either chip but all in all the core duo is probably better...

Trevente, this is a good question... I have recently purchased two lappy's. One for my wife an HP DV8110 with a turion and then an Acer Aspire 5670 for myself which has the core duo. I would tell you that both machines seem to be plent fast and in some cases I think my wifes is a little...

Want to buy a new laptop....

I have a couple friends wh purchased from Cyberpowerpc and love their systems. I am a mobile business user and do a little gaming so when I bought mine I looked at the acer's. seemed like more bang for the buck than most. Acer Aspire 5670 core duo 1.66 x1400 128 pcie on board 384 shared...

Map updates for streets and trips....

Does any one know if there are map updates available for streets and trips? I just purchased 2006 with the gps locator but the maps of my area aren't including some new loops around town.... Are there ways to use other maps in conjunction with the software?

EPOX 8RDA+ C1 error

I had a cap problem as well. I contacted Epox and RMA'd the board. It was back to me within 2 weeks. I put everything back together but for some reason I am not stable... probably something simple..... the board I got looked to be a refurb which I guess all of them are which is fine with me as...
