Most likely reason my computer suddenly won't post?

Just to put the cap on this thread: it was the Biostar motherboard - replacing it (and only it) with the cheap Foxconn in my updated sig has fixed it.

See sig I have a couple, but not compatible with current hardware. Anyway, borrowed a power supply and no joy - same results as with my Corsair. Pity, since at least the power supply is under warranty. Looks like the MB is the next thing to try, although I might think about upgrading...

Most likely reason my computer suddenly won't post?

The computer listed in my sig has been working without a hiccup for about a year and a half. Then, while I was using it the other night, it went down as if the power had been cut, then restarted itself, then faltered again, so I shut it down. After waiting a bit, I started it up and it was fine...

Searching Contacts' notes field in Windows Vista

Can anyone tell me how to do a keyword search of the Notes fields from my Contacts in Windows Vista? I want to search all my Contacts at once. In the old Windows address book you could specify which field you wanted to search, but I don't find anything comparable in Vista. Thanks for your help

Vista Upgrade Question

There is a well-documented workaround you can do with the upgrade disc to get it to do a clean install. Basically, it requires you to install Vista twice. This is one of many sites that spells it out: http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_upgrade_clean.asp

anybody else having problems running pirates on x800xl?

Dell 2005FPW and older vid card

I add resolutions with PowerStrip, using "advanced timing options" in Display Profiles. Probably other software to do it too.
