Hi,
This is on an OS X Macbook Air with a Boot Camp partition
I had a working Win7 boot camp partition that was too small. Being lazy, I googled how to resize it and got a guide for GParted. I successfully took some space from the OS X partition and made it free, moved it around and added...
My power settings are always on and there is nothing running except for origin and fifa and microsoft security essentials I guess?
all taskbar notifications are set to off
Trying to play FIFA 12 online, and it keeps just switching back to the Desktop, like I've alt-tabbed out (but I haven't).
I looked online and it said to set the compatibility settings to:
disable visual themes
disable desktop composition
disable display scaling on high dpi settings

I'm building a new machine with this board and I got everything together with only these things connected:
cpu (Xeon e1240)
cpu fan (oem)
4 sticks ram (4x 4GB ECC Unbuffered Kingston)
case fan
It POSTs fine, and then I just opened BIOS and let it sit in there and was reading the manual...
If anyone could confirm if intel raid works in esxi, and if not suggest a raid 10 card?
is it even required? wouldn't a super cheap card that does raid 1 and using two small ssds give way better performance anyway?
edit: I guess something like a 64, 80, 100 or maybe ever 120 might not be...
the supermicro board I ordered has onboard RAID 10, is it garbage (software raid I assume?) or might it work for this application?

6x SATA2 (3Gbps) w/ RAID 0, 1, 5, 10
I was thinking of 1 spindle sata drive and 1 ssd and split them up across that. External HD backup at a snapshot point once I get things setup.
I do have 4x 320GB Seagate drives (the single platter ones from a few years ago, they were the fastest consumer drives at that time) that I could put...

I want to build a machine to recreate our work servers as a "sandbox" / training for myself environment, where I just fuck around consequence free.
I want to get the most cores/cpus and the most ram possible (ESXi max is 32GB I think anyway) for the least amount of cash. Open to intel and...
Well, he is a "noob" and I thought this was a perfect way for him to do it himself. Many people have had it work just fine and there is a newegg/asus video showing just how easy it is.
I'll walk him through that after work and post the cpu-z shots.
