Looks like some fans of the consistency between RAM speeds over here. Only one vote for 512, and some very strong votes for 256. I guess I'll go the 256 route, then.
Thanks,

I have a P4 2.8ghz 800fsb Unoverclockable (Dell) that I'd like to add some RAM to. I've got 256 MB PC 3200 right now, and was wondering if another 256 MB PC 3200 is the right choice, or if a 512 MB PC 2700 stick was better. I know I'd be passing up dual channel with the 512, as well as...
No problem, my pleasure.
Also, OEM software IS good for upgrader rebate in the future, so enjoy! Usually they ask for print out of screen shot or scan of CD, or even the CD itself sometimes.

EDIT code gives you a nice $2 discount on top of the original price, making it cheaper than the 50 pack per item price. Have ordered several Systemworks 2k3 CD's from them, they always arrive quickly and in perfect shape. These are real OEM CD's, not burned or anything like that. Highly...
Seriously. So basically we've got the z540's for 4.1 at 40 watts, then the z640's for 5.1 at 51 watts, and then the z560's for 4.1 and THX certified with 400 watts, and finally the z680's for 5.1, with a lot better stuff all around. A strange numbering system, but I think I get it now.

you don't have to flame that much. but they are going to a lot of trouble, that much i do know. if this is some ponzi scheme, he spent a lot of money time and effort on this scheme. otherwise it is good enough for me.
Far less time, effort and money than Cyberrebate spent. He...
Wow, this IS hot!! Is this B & M only, or online, too?
Good catch, fr, I didn't notice there was a grammatical error in this post. :)
Thanks for the eloquent and poignant post, pc166, look forward to more from you!

Ganryu:
I wondered the same thing about the Dell systems. Took one apart and found that the whole system only has one fan, with a baffle that goes over the CPU and directs the air directly to the exhaust port on the back of the case. The PSU has a big finned heat sink in it and doesn't even...
BTW, got in on this a few weeks ago on the clearance table at my local Staples, and I bought it for the hell of it since it was so cheap. Figured I'd try it out on my N710/760c just in case it fit, and it does! I mean, not perfectly, but securely, and enough so that it charges and transfers...
So tempting, but by most accounts this puppy is heavy. I've been waiting forever for them to do a similar deal on a 4100, just to save the weight. I don't mind 32 MB GeForce2Go and 14" screen, I just don't want scoliosis from schlepping this thing around. Come on, give us a good deal on the...
Had a look at the guts of the 4400. Dunce11r is right, there is a plastic vent that covers the heatsink on the CPU like a funnel and connects to the very quiet exhaust fan that is on the back of the case. The PSU has only one quiet fan in it and there seems to be fins of a heatsink in the PSU...
<< Funny, I was at my dad's house for the easter holiday and he just got a Dell too. I also noticed that I couldn't hear the thing at all. I was jealous but I didn't tell him that :) >>
Likewise, RickySilk. Luckily my AMD 1700+ and 512 Megs of RAM were able to outperform his 4400, or I'd...
