Obviously people here haven't seen the results of a high lightning strike area. My mother lives on the top of a hill in rural PA. As of about 2 months ago, I have picked through the remains of 4 computers layed to shambles by phone line connections to modems. This has happened after the phone...
Backweb is a nifty little program that some trojans use to "control" your computer. If you didn't install SP2 for windows 2000, you have most likely been infected. SP2 corrected alot of the insecurities with win2000.
I would suggest a format and reinstall. Especially since it seems that you...
NO, NO, NO.
In my house, there are some places multimedia should not make it to. One being the bedroom, the other being the bathroom. I could stand for a little music, but no TV.
Do a search for thttpd on a search engine. It is a very nice webserver for low end hardware and small harddrives. It should run on TinyLinux. For basic static pages, you should be fine. If I were you, I would fire it up and give it a try. I'm pretty sure Steinkeuler of Linux Router Project...
I have 5 full PC's that run on my network. 3 of which are on 24/7.
24/7 machines:
Dual Celeron 500 - main Windows machine
Celeron 450 - used for video capture and video editing.
K6-3 400 - Downstairs machine (fiance's)
Not on all the time:
Iopener - net appliance converted to full PC. Mostly...
Well I have something with my GF that is way more binding than a marriage. It's called a 30 year mortgage. She says I can leave anytime I want, as long as I send her the mortgage payment.
I think marriage is a commitment between 2 people. It doesn't have to be official to anyone but the 2...
There are ways for them to tell if you are using a router. The question is will they take the time. It would also be very hard to enforce, because you could just be using the router as a firewall for one machine.
The bottom line is that if it is against their TOS and they check, you will most...
OK, here we go.
K6-3 400 in downstairs computer. Still runs very well with everything I do.
K6-2 350 underclocked to 200 in Linux Terminal Server Project terminal.
K6-2 500 in linux server.
K6-2 300 in linux server.
K6-2 350 and K6-2+ 450 on shelf waiting to replace current processors in servers.
It's not really the amount of time, but the mileage and type of driving that you do. If it's mostly highway driving with very little breaking you can go a long time between brake changes. City driving is a lot worse.
I have a small economy care and I change the brake pads about once every 50K...
It's cross platform. Runs on a lot of OSs. I like it because I can have the same browser on windows and linux. Just like open office and gimp.
Just saw this and must have gotten in before the rush to the servers. Mozilla 1.0 is now installed on my machine.

Ummm.. Modern day Odyssey with George Clooney as Ullysses. Just your basic beat the bad guys and get back to the woman you love story.
edit: spelling
edit2:
Many parallels with the odyssey:
Like sirens at the river. i.e. beautiful women
John Goodman as the cyclops.
Can't remember all the...
Sure looks like the garter snakes I use to chase people with when I was younger. Most of the ones we had in central PA looked like that, only a few had very distinct marking like Rallispec's pic.
Now for snake stories. We were hiking one day on a dead end trail along a swamp. On the way...
